Meet Lyn
Lyn Hilt is a Program Administrator for the Berks County Intermediate Unit in Reading, PA, where she serves county educators in professional learning endeavors in the areas of online professional learning, STEM and three dimensional science education, gifted education, and more. Her prior roles include instructional technology integrator and coach, elementary school principal, adjunct instructor for graduate students in educational leadership programs, and classroom teacher in both middle and elementary school settings.
Lyn has presented at various local, state, and national conferences on topics ranging from professional development to networked educational leadership. Lyn is a Google for Education Certified Trainer, Applied Digital Skills Ambassador, and Apple Teacher, and is Google Cloud Certified (Google Workspace) and received Instructional Design certifications from Villanova University. She also holds K-12 principal, K-12 library media science, elementary, and middle-level math and science teaching certifications.
Lyn’s experiences include serving as lead instructional designer, community manager and courses director for the vibrant and inspiring Modern Learners Community, a space dedicated to pushing the boundaries of learning created by the Modern Learners team, and helped develop a number of online courses for Modern Learners. Lyn has contributed to various publications in print and online. She authored a chapter on using social media to support professional learning in the 3rd edition of Powerful Designs for Professional Learning, published by Learning Forward.
Meet Jason
Dr. Jason Hilt is the Director of Technology in the Spring-Ford Area School District. He is responsible for leading the technology department and supporting innovative and technology-rich programs throughout the district. Prior to joining Spring-Ford, Jason served as the Director of Technology in the Lower Moreland School District for 8 years, Prior to that role, Jason was the Supervisor of Instructional Technology in the Upper Darby School District, where he was responsible for the integrity of instructional technology practices in a district supporting over 12,500 students. He has taught elementary, middle, and high school students and served as an adjunct instructor at two universities for over 10 years. He has served as a principal coach in a large urban school district as well as a curriculum specialist, technology coach, teacher on special assignment for technology integration, and building level and central office administrator.
Jason is a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Apple Teacher. He is a highly-skilled presenter focused on improving outcomes for students with discrete learning needs. Jason’s doctoral research centered on teaching and learning gaps and included findings that support the need for strategic, sustainable, and innovative professional development programs. Jason holds superintendent, supervisor of curriculum, K-12 principal, math, business & computers, and elementary teaching professional certifications. In addition, Jason has coached high school cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field and he is the president of a non-profit organization and pilots the group’s airplane providing air transportation for animals in need.
Lyn and Jason love traveling and sharing life with two their amazing children and the family’s two greyhounds.
